48 Hours in Carlisle: Thoughts on Working from Home

For the past 27 hours I have been house-sitting/dog-sitting/working. I work for a wedding photographer doing postproduction work, assisting, and a slew of other things. Her office is attached to her house so there is a blend between business and personal life that exists. It generally remains separate except for instances like today where she needed someone to watch her dog while her entire family is out of town. I said yes and we drove to Quebec and then Montreal on the way back. Whenever I think back on the trip, I can’t believe I went on a vacation with someone I had known for only a…

I think the last time I remember having a fever, and my mom will never forget this, was when I was twelve and after reading the thermometer I look at the reading, then up at her and asked, “is 102 a fever?” Well yesterday I came close to that, 101.3! I went to work thinking I could tough it out but it got the better of me and I left at noon. Being sick for these 48 hours makes me feel grateful for most of the time when I’m not sick. Yesterday afternoon/evening consisted of being hot while getting chills. Admittedly, it was a neat feeling…
