Earlier this week Allegro Photography (one of the wedding photographers I’m working with this summer) asked me to photograph some decor for an event downtown. Eager to shoot and get into the city, I grabbed my camera and drove in. The event was called Night of 1,000 Stories, an evening dinner to raise money to support youth writers. AE Events were the event planners which means they designed and coordinated the décor and the vendors (food, entertainment, etc.). Typically, event planners will ask the photographer or hire a separate photographer to specifically shoot the decor so they can then use them in their portfolio.
