It’s always risky making resolutions publicly because if you don’t meet them you can feel silly about it. A lot of my resolutions this year are similar, not intentionally, to the ones I made for last year. For my work 2016 resolutions I on average kept up with all of them with the exception of the last one, scheduling a photoshoot once a month. For my personal resolutions I did 3 out of 5 of them. The two I didn’t do was floss every day and journal everyday. Like last year, I’ll divide them into two groupings: work and personal. Let’s go!!!
- book 5 Colorado weddings
- blog 3x/month
- second shoot every weekend I am not lead shooting
- get a part time job that works with my freelance schedule
- do not buy anything but food and experiences during the month of January***
- join a weekly meet up (and attend it!)
- workout 3-4 times a week
- save $100/week
*** For the past year or so, I’ve been taking on a more minimalistic lifestyle. Now that word has come to be pretty loaded and Nick always jokes about how he is a better minimalist than I am but my definition of minimalism really comes down to quality over quantity and being intentional with what I own. I “discovered” minimalism through The Minimalists, which are these two guys who started with a blog discussing all aspects of minimalism. They now have a podcast, a movie, and multiple books! I will do a post that really talks about my journey with minimalism and where I’m at but for this post, I am really working to curb my spending habits and that will begin with stopping impulse purchasing/just buying stuff. I have everything I need and then some. Our apartment is also TINY which is awesome because it has really forced me to think about what I am bringing into it.
